Discovering the Sesame of Ispica

A small seed, a big Sicilian story

Learn about the organic cultivation of Sesame of Ispica, a Slow Food presidium, and taste the cobaita, well known in Sicily as “giuggiulena”.
A journey through golden fields, peasant traditions and authentic flavors.

What will you do

  • Discovery of organic sesame cultivation in Ispica
  • Introduction to the Slow Food world and its principles
  • Show cooking: preparation of the “Giuggiulena” (Cobaita)
  • Final tasting of farm products and local specialties

Useful info

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes (17:00-18:30)
When: every Thursday, by reservation (min. 1 day in advance)
Participants: 4 – 12 people
Cost: €40 per person (children free up to 8 years old)
Best time: August (flowering), September-October (harvesting)
